Report a Clogged Catch Basin

Catch basins—storm drains typically found along the curb line—are designed to collect rainwater from city streets and direct it into the City’s sewer system. When catch basins become clogged with trash, leaves and other debris, water can pool on the surface and cause street flooding.

Heavy rain, especially when combined with a buildup of debris, can overwhelm and clog these drainage systems. If you see a clogged or non-functioning catch basins, report it by calling 311 or submitting a service request online.

Note: During extended periods of heavy rain, the drainage system may reach full capacity. In such cases, it can take time for water to drain completely.
