Where can I file non-emergency crimes or an accident report?

Non-emergency crimes can be reported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by phone at 574-235-9201 or in-person the South Bend Police Department at 701 W. Sample Street, South Bend, IN 46601.

Non-emergency accident reports can be filed by filling out a Civilian Traffic Collision Report or in-person at the South Bend Police Department within ten (10) days of the accident.

Who should file a non-emergency accident report?

Any person operating a vehicle on a South Bend roadway involved in an accident resulting in any property damage exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) in which a police officer was not called to investigate, can file a written report with the South Bend Police Department within ten (10) days of the occurrence of the accident using the Civilian Traffic Collision Report which can be found here.
