SE-INCIDENT: Basement Flooding

 

 

Is there a cost to have basement flooding checked?

There is no cost for the initial visit to evaluate the situation and determine a cause.  If it is determined that there is a sewer issue rather than a rain-caused issue, there are steps that must be taken and those will be explained if necessary.

Who is eligible to have basement flooding checked?

Residential or commercial properties that are hooked up to City sewer (in or out of the city limits proper).

When will my basement flooding be checked?

Sewer Department personnel will be dispatched within one (1) hour to attempt to determine the cause of the flooding.

How do I report basement flooding?

During normal business hours (7:30 am - 5:30 pm), call 311.  The information will be given to a supervisor for evaulation.

After business hours, call 311 and follow the telephone prompts for a Sewer Emergency. Someone from the Sewer Department will be dispatched to evaluate the situation.

You will need to provide:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • The address where the event is occurring.
  • What is in the water?  
  • Is it clear or is there sewage mixed in?
