What is Amnesty Day?

The Common Council passed Ordinance Number 10471-16, which gives the City Controller the ability to declare an annual Parking Ticket Amnesty Day, the one day per year when parking ticket late fees will be forgiven, allowing those with unpaid parking tickets to pay the original cost of the ticket only, potentially reducing total costs owed by 50%. This excludes any ticket which has been referred to the City Legal Department for collection or other action.


When is Parking Ticket Amnesty Day?

Amnesty Day will occur on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 8:00am to 5pm.


Where is Parking Ticket Amnesty Day occurring?

Parking Ticket Amnesty Day is only honored for in-person visits at the Ordinance Violations Bureau on the 12th floor of the County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Bvld. (located in the Legal Department) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.


Who is involved in Parking Ticket Amnesty Day?

Anyone with unpaid parking tickets that would like to pay their fine without a late fee, no matter how old the fine is (excluding any ticket which has been referred to the City Legal Department for collection or other action).
