Where can I obtain a license for my pet?
Citizens can obtain a city license for their animals in person at South Bend Animal Resource Center located at 521 Eclipse Place, South Bend, IN 46628
They will need to bring a copy of their pets CURRENT rabies vaccination certificate.
Citizens can also obtain a license through the mail by mailing a copy of their CURRENT rabies certificate, payment and License Application Form to SBARC 521 Eclipse Place, South Bend, IN 46628.
Who needs to obtain a license for their pet?
Any person owning, keeping, harboring, or having custody of any dog or cat over the age of six (6) months must obtain a pet license.”
Senior citizens over the age of 62 must register their pets, however, the fee will be waived.
Some service animals may be exempt from fees with appropriate documentation. This does not include emotional support animals.

An altered cat or dog is one that has been spayed or neutered, making them incapable of producing offspring.
